Julia I. Lisak, 91, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 5:06 am in her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Buffalo & 10th Streets, Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. Sean Danda officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 am - 11:30 am, Tuesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.
She was born January 4, 1932 in Michigan City, IN. On February 7, 1953 in Chesterton, IN she married Henry Lisak who preceded her on June 13, 2014.
Surviving are two sons, James (Lisa) Lisak of Muskego, WI and Michael (Janet) Lisak of Murfreesboro, TN; two daughters, Susan Grattenthaler of Michigan City, IN and Katherine (Richard) Danda of Brownsburg, IN; five grandchildren, Rev. Sean Danda, Sis. Solanas Casey Danda, George Grattenthaler, IV, Lauren (Ben) Blue and Sam (Emily) Lisak; two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Grattenthaler and Caroline Blue; sister, Carol (Gene) Tylisz of Michigan City, IN; and brother, Tom Lipinski of Westville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Janowski; mother, Jane Lipinski; and step-father, Adolph Lipinski.
Julia retired as a bookkeeper at Pioneer Lumber Co. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Rosary Sodality and was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and R.S.V.P.
