Joyce Marie Dean, 72, Laporte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 6:00 AM in Franciscan Health - Michigan City, Michigan City, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM -8:00 PM, June 10, 2025 and from 9:00 AM until time service Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
She was born August 9, 1952 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late George Henry and Dorothy (Wentland) Henrich. On June 23, 1973 in Michigan City, Indiana she married William T. Dean who preceded her in death on April 5, 2014.
Surviving are daughter, Christine M. (Timothy Yeager) Burris of Belton, Texas; son, Brian T. Dean of La Porte, Indiana; four grandchildren, Antonio (Merisa Grosskopf) Gomez of Mosinee, Wisconsin, Jennifer (William McCann) Dean of Belton, Texas, Brian Dean, II, Byers, Texas and DeWayne Dean of La Porte, Indiana; great-grandchild, William Andrews; sister, Mary Henrich of Chesterton, Indiana; brother, Robert (Stacie) Henrich of New Buffalo, Michigan; sister-in-law, Karen Henrich of Chesterton, Indiana along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Henrich, Sr.;
Joyce is a member of Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, Michigan City, Indiana. She graduated from Isaac C. Elston High School in 1971. She was a loyal and caring licensed practical nurse (LPN) for 41 years where she worked at Walters Hospital, Memorial Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, Indiana State Prison and in home health care. After retirement she continued to care for family members. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and will be missed by all who knew her. She spoiled her grandchildren especially her great-grandson whom he referred to her as Oma, she was his world. Joyce loved listening to country music, and enjoyed watching western TV shows and western movies.
