John Marvin Pawlak, 87, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at 8:00 p.m. in his home.
A private burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling the arrangements.
He was born on June 30, 1938, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Frank and Opal Marie (Rice) Pawlak. On November 22, 1956, in Westville, Indiana, he married Margery Lynn (Shebel) Pawlak.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Margery Pawlak of Michigan City, Indiana; one son, John F. Pawlak of El Cajon, California; three brothers, Frank Manson Pawlak, Fred Pawlak, and Sam Pawlak; one sister, Valery Dierdorf; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Theresa Lynn Pawlak; one son, Steven Edward Pawlak; and one brother, Richard Pawlak.
John worked for National Food Store as a meat cutter and later began work at NIPSCO as a lineman. He was a hard working man and always wanted to provide for his wife and children. John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very friendly and had lots of friends. His family and in-laws loved him dearly.
