John D. Kosecki, Jr., 69, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 7:24 am in his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 10, 2022 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with  Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Family burial will take place in Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso, Indiana with full military services at a later date.  Visitation hours will be from 11:00 am -1:00 pm, Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.    

He was born March 7, 1953 in Bay City, Michigan to the John D. and Elaine (Schultz) Kosecki, Sr.. On August 22, 2003 in Michigan City, Indiana he married Patricia (Sarnowski) Statti, who survives Michigan City, Indiana.  Also surviving are step-daughter, Kim (Ricky) Johnson of La Porte, Indiana;  2 Step-Grandchildren; mother, Elaine Kosecki, Beverton, Michigan; three sisters, Lynn Kosecki of Saginaw, Michigan, Mary Lou (Bernie) VanSumeren of Beverton, Michigan, Joanie (Bill) Wheeler of Goetzville, Michigan; two brothers, Dan (Debbie) Kosecki of Bay City, Michigan, Kevin Kosecki of Bay City, Michigan; brother & sister-in-law, Joseph and Rae Sarnowski, Valparaiso, Indiana along with many nieces and nephews; He was preceded in death by father John D. Kosecki, Sr., brother, Wayne Kosecki; two sisters, Carol Kosecki, Tammy Ruffalo and his former spouse, Janice Kosecki;   

John was a certified auto mechanic and retired as a maintenance worker in the manufacturing industry.  He was a US Army Viet Nam veteran and enjoyed fishing, hunting and smoking his meats and fish that he caught.
