Jesse Voorhees, Jr. 68, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 9:40 am in his home.

Private family services will take place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.

He was born August 20, 1953 in La Porte City, Indiana to the late Jess and Wilma (Kroening) Voorhees, Sr.   On  October 10, 1991 in Michigan City, Indiana he married Lola Shupe who survives Michigan City, Indiana.  Also surviving are four daughters, Renee (Raymond) Underwood of La Porte, Indiana, Catrena Hanna and Lola Gesse, II, both of Iowa and Marion Rose Montano of Union Mills, Indiana; two sons, Jeremy (Heather) Voorhees of La Porte, Indiana, Edgar (Alizabeth) Gesse Jr. of Michigan City, Indiana; 23 grandchildren;  three brothers, Harold Voorhees and Robert Voorhees both of Tennessee and Carl Voorhees of Michigan City, Indiana; He was preceded in death by two Grandchildren, Keith Hanna, Jeramija Gesse; daughter, Samantha Hill along with a sister, Ann Cook;   

Jesse was a delivery carrier of newspapers and enjoyed attending car and motorcycle shows.  He also enjoyed working on small & large engines, fishing and was a fan of tractor pulling contests.
