Jerry L. Allen

Jerry L. Allen, 77, Long Beach, Indiana, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025 at 10:27 am at his home in Long Beach, Indiana.

There will be no visitation or service. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.    

He was born March 16, 1948 in Rensselaer, IN to the late Woodrow Allen and Dorothy (Patrick) Allen . On February 1, 1980 in Michigan City, Indiana he married Genevieve (Frost) Allen who survives in Long Beach, Indiana.

Surviving are son, John (Tracy) Allen of Carmel, IN; daughter, Anastasia (Cameron) Weinreich of Carmel, IN; four grandchildren, Sophia, Bridgette, Andrew, Ian. He was preceded in death by his parents.    

Jerry graduated from Purdue University with a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. He worked for Nipsco for 37 years and eventually retired from Midcontinent Independent System Operator (M.I.S.O) in 2009. Jerry enjoyed bowling, spending time with his family, and coaching his kids in youth sports over the years.
