Jennifer "Jenni" L. (Mellen) Thome, 33, Shorewood, Wisconsin, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at her home.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 17, 2019 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Rev. William F. O'Toole officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

She was born August 9, 1985 in Michigan City, Indiana to Joseph H. and Janet (Hampel) Mellen, III. On September 19, 2018 in Michigan City, IN she married Ryan Thome who survives in Shorewood, WI.

Also surviving are her mother, Janet Mellen of Long Beach, IN; sister, Jacqueline (Joshua) Mellen Hutchison of Westville, IN; niece, Lillian Hutchison of Westville, IN; nephew, Gavin Hutchison of Westville, IN; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph H. Mellen, III.

Jenni was relentless in her drive to make others feel happy and loved. Countless silly laughs, blanket forts and famous gift baskets for her niece and nephew, her "little stinks". Cocktails and crafting, sunny days on the beach and cozy nights on the couch watching a funny movie with her friends and family, of which there are too many to count. Cuddles and walks and then more cuddles with her Bella. Making a house a beautiful home, filled with love and joy and silliness. Putting in the extra time at work to make sure somebody who she had maybe never even met felt like they had a voice and it was being heard. Giving everything she had and then a little more to make sure you knew she was there for you, no questions asked. That drive to be the best, always. The best wife, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, niece, friend, co-worker and dog-mom. All roles which were cut tragically short, but rendered no less meaningful. She will be loved and cherished by so many, forever.
