Jane E. Nichelson, 91, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 4th, 2022 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with Pastor Nancy Nichols officiating. Private burial will be held in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

Jane was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Billy.  She is survived by two daughters, CK (Tracy Chappelow) Nichelson of North College Hill, Ohio, Karen (Larry) Arndt of Humble, Texas; son, Scott (Rosalie) Nichelson of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren, Kevin Arndt (fiancé Kate Gaddis) of Humble, Texas, Amy Arndt of Austin, Texas, Lindsey (Jesse) Sanchez of San Antonio, Texas, Michael (Brittany) Nichelson of League City, Texas.

Jane was a lifelong resident of Michigan City.  She graduated from Franklin College and was a proud Delta Zeta sorority member.  Jane met her future husband while serving as an elevator operator at the Spaulding Hotel.   Jane was a reading tutor at Eastport elementary school, and later in life enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends at the senior center.  Jane was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Michigan City for over 50 years.
