James "Jim" Fabian Obituary

James "Jim" L. Fabian, 81, of Long Beach, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 7:25 a.m. at Life Care Center of Michigan City.

Jim was born April 10, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to the late Louis and Anne (Sany) Fabian. On July 27, 1968, he married Susan (Aimone) Fabian at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverdale, IL. She survives in Long Beach, Indiana.

Also surviving are his son, Kevin (Tamara) Fabian of Naperville, IL; two daughters, Diana Fabian (Mark Meisinger) of Chicago, IL, and Karyn (Jeff) Endsley of O’Fallon, MO; four beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Allyson, Gabriella, and Zander.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol Schroeder.

Jim attended Chicago Public Schools, graduated from Bowen High School and attended Illinois Institute of Technology.  Jim spent over two decades selling CIGNA insurance and spent many years involved in real estate investment. He proudly served in the Air National Guard.  A longtime resident of the South Side of Chicago, Jim was a devoted Chicago White Sox fan. He enjoyed watching sports, reading and was a lifelong cribbage player.  He also cherished time spent boating on Lake Michigan.

Funeral services will be private with plans for a Celebration of Life in the fall.

Memorial contributions may be made to any nature organization - The Nature Conservancy, National Wildlife Federation, Audubon Society, Sierra Club, World Wildlife Fund, etc.
