James "Jim" Harbart, 78, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 1:24 pm in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.  Private burial will take place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.   

He was born December 19, 1945 in Michigan City, IN to the late Wallace and Helen Harbart. On October 25, 1969 in Michigan City, IN he married Judith L. Pawlick who preceded him November 13, 2013.

Surviving are a daughter, Karrie Harbart of Trail Creek, IN; two sons, Kevin (Marla Bruns) Harbart of La Porte, IN and Kirk (Dawn) Harbart of Portage, IN; three grandchildren, Clara, Gabriel and Lillian Harbart all of Portage, IN.

Jim  retired as an electrician at NIPSCO. He was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity, Michigan City, IN and a life member of the Moose Family Center #980, Trail Creek, IN. Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening and woodworking. He also had volunteered operating the weigh scales for the Hoosier Coho Club fishing tournaments.
