January 20, 1949 - March 18, 2025
Jacqueline T. Frankowski , 76, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 2:35 pm in her daughter's home in Carmel, IN.
Committal services will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, April 14, 2025 at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel, 153 Tilden Ave., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Dave Gargano officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
Jackie, as she was most known, was born January 20, 1949 in Michigan City, IN to the late James F. and Lillian (Neulieb ) Janowski.
Surviving are two daughters, Lorie (Mark ) Stevens of Rolling Prairie, IN and Jill (Timothy) Elshire of Carmel, IN; and 12 grandchildren. The grandchildren are Faith Elshire of Indianapolis, Dominic Elshire of Bloomfield, MI, Brett Stevens of Rolling Prairie, Jackson (Sophie) of Bismarck, ND, Bryce Stevens of Rolling Prairie, Mitchel Elshire of West Lafayette, Quinn Elshire of Carmel, Hope Elshire of Carmel, Grace Elshire of Carmel, Joy Elshire of Carmel,
Rose Elshire of Carmel, and Gloria Elshire of Carmel. Also, surviving is one newborn great grandson, Zion Elshire of Bismarck, ND.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, James R. Janowski and infant son James Henry Frankowski.
Jackie loved being a mother and fortunate to stay home for the girls' early years. She became the neighborhood mom and often had many kids in her home. Later, she worked for many years at Whirlpool and as a custodian for Michigan City High School. She loved to travel ,vacation, and spend time with her family. She especially loved her dogs, Mindy, Arie, and Harley. Harley is now a resident of Carmel.
Jacqueline was known for dressing "sassy." If her outfit did not have glitter, sequins or rhinestones, it was an off day.
