Helen Marie (Zeck) Pizarek

Helen Marie Pizarek, 98, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at 12:56 pm at her home in, Michigan City, Indiana.

Private family services will be held at a later date in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, IN Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.

She was born January 22, 1922 in Jasper County Indiana to the late Frances and Francis (True) Zeck. On September 7, 1949 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Alexander John Pizarek who preceded June 15, 1999.

Surviving are son, Richard A. (Marjorie) Pizarek of Crystal Lake, IL; daughter, Lois A. Ward of Michigan City, IN; six grandchildren, Laura (Nick) Reitz of Springfield, IL, Joseph (Rachel) Pizarek of Jersey City, NJ, John (Amanda) Pizarek of Minneapolis, MN, Michael (Christi) Pizarek of Chicago, IL, Joshua (Heather) Ward of La Porte, IN, Daniel Ward of Michigan City, IN; nine great-grandchildren, Carter Ward, Scarlett Ward, Gabrielle Ward, Jeremy Reitz, Clayton Reitz, Beckett Reitz, Vera Pizarek, Rowen Pizarek, Maeve Pizarek. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred Zeck, Kenneth Zeck; two sisters, Dorothy VanDam, Jane Greer.

Helen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Michigan City, Boy Scouts of America, and American Red Cross serving as the canteen lady. She also served on the board for AARP. Helen enjoyed crocheting and doing puzzle books.
