Gregory Allen Alberding
December 15, 1952 - February 14, 2021 

Gregory Allen David Alberding of Long Beach, Indiana passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the age of 68 after battling CIDP.  Greg is preceded in death by his parents Warren and Margaret Alberding.  He is survived by his partner in love, Kathy Sue Baggarly Brown, his son Gregory Mathew Alberding (Amanda), grandchildren Gregory Nicodemus-Aust III and Lyla Rose, his daughter Karley Dawn Kinsey (Kevin), grandson Garen, Kathy’s son Matthew Brown (Katie), grandchildren Wesley and Brennan, daughter Nichole Veihman (Justin) grandchildren Vivienne, Jane, and Ellen, and his two sisters, Diana Elshire and Penny Greta. 
Greg was born in La Porte, Indiana, where he graduated from La Porte High School. Greg was very proud of his time as snare drummer in La Porte’s Drum Corps, the Maple City Cadets.  He served in the US Army, later becoming a member of the American Legion of La Porte.  He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Purdue University and proudly followed their sports teams. Greg worked as a factory supervisor for several years, and then, retired as a salesman.  After moving to Long Beach, he joined the Long Beach Civic Association, and was a past president.  Greg loved, above all, being Papa G to his eight grandchildren.  He enjoyed golf, Jack Daniels, Chicago sports (well the good ones: Cubs, Bears, and Bulls), music (like the Who and TSO), and movies (“Give me Paw!”).  Greg was a member of the Catholic faith, and attended mass at Notre Dame Catholic Church.  Service and celebration of life will be open to all, Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 10:00 am at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1000 Moore Road,  Long Beach, IN.  A time of gathering will be from 9:00 am til 10:00am in Notre Dame Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to kidney.org, Friends of DCI Scholarship Fund, or Notre Dame Catholic Church in Long Beach, IN.
