Gerald G. Granacki, 81, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born on December 1, 1944, in Michigan City, Indiana, to William J. and Margaret (Novak) Granacki. He was united in marriage to Betty Emerick, who preceded him in death after 25 years of marriage.
Surviving are his three daughters, Tammy (John) Spears of La Porte, Indiana, Kim Perrin of Bridgman, Michigan, and Angie Roberts of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, Kevin, Jordan, and Ashlynn; six great-grandchildren, Kylan, Carter, Daisy, Joshua, Delilah, and Avrum; niece, Chrissy; nephew, Jeff; and his special companion, Frankie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William J. Granacki Jr. and Bobby Granacki; and grandson, Joshua.
Gerald honorably served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 1963. He enjoyed fishing aboard his boat, “Little Hog,” and loved spending time on the lake and at his parents' cottage. Known for his wonderful sense of humor, Gerald enjoyed making people laugh and brought joy to those around him.
