Gerald Wilson Agar, 91, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 5:14 pm in Aperion Care - Michigan City.
Private services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
He was born December 12, 1933 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late John and Kathryn (Creagan) Agar. On October 11, 2001 in Las Vegas, NV he married Paula Seaman Agar who survives in Michigan City, IN.
Also surviving are three daughters, Kathy (Rick) Shaink of Schoolcraft, MI, Jennifer (Eric) Schinzing of Gardnerville, NV and Shannon George of Burr Oak, MI; three sons, John (Jennifer) Agar of Zeeland, MI, Jeff (Becki) Agar of Rockford, MI and Matthew (Sara) Lucas of Battle Creek, MI; 17 grandchildren; four great-granddaughters; and his sister, Sandy Betts of Loudon, TN.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tom Agar.
Gerald had worked as an educator, a sports book supervisor, and had owned his own bar and restaurant. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Michigan City, IN. Gerald loved sports, especially golf. He was a graduate of Hillsdale College where he was on the Dean's List and also graduated from Western Michigan University.
