Gayle Peterson

Gayle Peterson, 74, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 7:39 a.m. at Brickyard Healthcare - LaPorte Care Center in La Porte, Indiana.

There will be no services. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana 46360, is handling arrangements.

He was born December 30, 1951 in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Sigurd and Beatrice (Bowes) Peterson. On April 15, 1994 in Porter County, Indiana he married Patty Lynn (Fife) Peterson, who preceded him in death on May 7, 2024.

Surviving are one step-daughter, Jennifer (Jose) Guerra of Portage, Indiana; four daughters, Kelly, Tracey, Jamie, and Katie; one son, Jeffrey; one step-son, Michael McKay of Portage, Indiana; nine step-grandchildren; and ten step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Sigurd Peterson; his mother, Beatrice Peterson; his wife, Patty Lynn Peterson; one step-son, Kenneth E. McKay; one sister, Lynn Beland; and one brother, Wayne H. Peterson.

Gayle retired from AT&T as an office repair technician. He enjoyed fishing, roller skating, traveling, and working on cars. He adored his two Chihuahuas, Lucy and Coco.
