Frances K. Metts, 89, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, February 27, 2026, at 12:43 p.m. at Franciscan Health – Michigan City.
A graveside service will be held Monday, March 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Hanna Cemetery, Hanna, Indiana. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, is handling arrangements.
She was born October 23, 1936, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Edward and Agnes (Cockran) Domroski. On September 30, 1995, she married Sylvester Metts, who preceded her in death on June 11, 2010.
Frances is survived by two daughters, Vickie (Travis) Gore of Lebanon, Indiana, and Patty (Carmen) Schiavone of Michigan City, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Winon E. Kelley III, Jamie Mitchel, Jessica Owens, Justin Lubke, Megan Baldwin, Jacob Childress, and Olivia Schiavone; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; along with many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Debra Lubke; two sons, Charles R. Kelley and Winon E. Kelley II; three sisters, Doris Kuchik, Betty Feaster, and Peggy Vaughn; and one brother, Richard Domroski.
Frances graduated from Elston High School and went on to have a long and dedicated career at Bethlehem Steel as a heavy equipment operator, retiring after many years of service. She was a member of the Michigan City Senior Center and a devoted member of the Church of Christ in Michigan City.
Frances enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casino, and most of all spending time with her family. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
