Eunice Mae Commons, 84, Lancaster, South Carolina, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at 6:58 pm at her home in, Lancaster, South Carolina.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Kenneth Carter officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am -11:00 am, Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

She was born July 20, 1936 in Iuka, Mississippi to the late Rosie Leatherwood and Andrew Davis with Eunice Carter and Melvin Carter as co-parents.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children Sandra (Evan) Mayo of Lancaster, SC, James Scott Leonard and Bessie Leonard of Michigan City, IN. Three brothers Kenneth Carter of Michigan City, IN, Kirk Carter of Richmond VA, Howard Carter of Dover, DE. Special nephew Melvin (Lee) Davis of Santa Ana, CA. Special cousin Harold (Jane) Williams of Mishawaka, IN. Her grandchildren Kirby Bonds, Felicia (Joseph) Hill, Phylis Woods, Ricko (Jennifer) Davis, Travis Davis, Dustin (Wayne) Jones, Aaron (Ashley) Golson, Latonya Davis, Carla (David) Herron, Shanta Kilgore, Dontay Wilkins, Eunice Hicks, and Leland Free. Forty-four great grandchildren, and twenty-five great-great grandchildren. Preceded her in death were her husband(s) James Leonard, and Jimmy Commons; sister, Lois Hill; brothers Richard Carter, Andrew Davis, Harry Davis, Billy Davis. Her sons Travis Davis, Rickey Leonard and grandson Philephia Davis.

Eunice enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, crocheting and cooking. She always enjoyed the company of her grands and great grands playing and laughing.
