Erika Hansen Obituary

Erika Hansen, 95, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, October 12, 2020 at 12:55 am in Trail Creek Place, Michigan City, Indiana.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Entombment will be held at a later date in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Michigan City. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.

She was born January 5, 1925 in Tagamunda, Germany to the late Paul and Wanda (Dessaules) Reinholz. On January 19, 1946 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Donald L. Hansen who preceded March 8, 2013.

Surviving are three sons, Randy (Nancy) Hansen of La Porte, IN, Larry (Kathy) Hansen of Michigan City, IN, James Hansen of New Carlisle, IN; brother, Robert Reinholz of Michigan City, IN; five grandchildren, Erin Hansen, Corey (Shauna) Hansen, Shane Hansen, Dustin Hansen, Katelyn Hansen. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Brooks.

Erika worked at Harvey's Dime Store, The Gift Shop, and later went on to retire in 1988 after working 10 years at Carson Pirie Scott. When Erika was younger she enjoyed playing volleyball at the YMCA.
