Elvis Barnett, 82, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:03 am at his home in, Michigan City, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Full Gospel House Church, 2700 Ohio St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Dennis Pickens officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm, Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana and from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Full Gospel House Church.
He was born August 12, 1938 in Rensselaer, IN to the late Herod and Clotine (Arnett) Barnett-Bush.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas Wade (Debra) Barnett of Michigan City, IN, Mark (JoAnn) Krickhahn of Effie, MN; two daughters, Christal (Butch) Kaufman of Rensselaer, IN, Elva Lou (Bob) Peterson of Rensselaer, IN; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Diane (Jeff) Salmon of Middletown, OH, Judy (Buck) Messer of Middletown, OH, Cloetta (Don) Conrad of Magnolia, TX; He was preceded in death by three sisters, Eldean Litchford, Raye Eldridge, Janet Barnett; four brothers, Azel Barnett, Carlos Barnett, Herod Scott Barnett, Jr., Vance Edward Barnett.
Elvis retired after many years as a self-employed carpenter for Custom Home Improvement. He served in the United States Army from 1957-1960 in the 82nd airborne division. Elvis was a fisherman, enjoyed golf, and bowling. He never met a stranger.
