Elmer B. Mauger, 77, Michigan City, IN, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 1:28 pm in Miller's Health & Rehab, LaPorte, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.  Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.    

He was born October 18, 1943 in East Chicago, IN to the late Elmer O. and Margaret (McGuire) Mauger. 

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Patrick) Wright and Margaret (George Friedrich) Jakelski, both of Michigan City, IN; son, Christopher Mauger of Gary, IN; two grandchildren, Alora and Merrick Jakelski; and three sisters, Jeri (Gary) Brown of Sun Prairie, WI, Peggy Yonker of Merrillville, IN and Mary Jo Mauger of Merrillville, IN.

Elmer retired as a grounds keeper for the Lake County Park Dept. and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Hesston Steam Society and the River Valley Antique Power Association.  Elmer enjoyed his pets, native flora and antique power equipment.
