Edward "Ducky" Wojasinski, 77, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 9:15 am in his home.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington Street, Michigan City, Indiana with  Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Skwiat Post #451. Visitation hours will be Tuesday from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana and Wednesday from 9:00 AM till 10:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.  The St. Joseph Young Men's Society will recite the Rosary Tuesday at 5:30 PM in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.    

He was born February 13, 1946 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Edward P. and Lucille (Bechinski) Wojasinski. On August 10, 1973 in La Porte, Indiana he married Karen (Kramer) Wojasinski who survives Michigan City, Indiana along with his mother Lucille Wojasinski, daughter, Amy (Ryan) Labis,  granddaughter, Hillary Labis all of Michigan City, Indiana; three sisters, Patricia (Mike) Gussman of Michigan City, Indiana, Tamara (Doug) Dible of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Mary Ann (Richie)  Best of Noblesville, Indiana; He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Wojasinski;   

Ducky retired after 36 years as a Michigan City Police Officer. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years.  He was a life member of the St. Joseph Young Men's Society, FOP Dunes Lodge #75, where he played on their softball team for many years.  He was a US Army veteran and was a member of the  American Legion Skwiat Post #451.  Ducky enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.  His biggest enjoyment came from taking his granddaughter to school and basketball games.  During his police career he was highly involved in capturing the kidnappers of a highly, professional and respected Chicago businessman in 1973.
