Edmund J. Caulfield, 84, passed away suddenly Sunday, February 27, 2022 at his home in  Long Beach, IN. 
 
He was born November 30, 1937 in Oak Park, IL to the late Edmund and Winifred (Hogue) Caulfield. On September 23, 1961 at Notre Dame Church, Long Beach, IN., Ed married the love of his life Deanna Gonder, who survives in Long Beach. They just celebrated their 60 years of life and love together this past fall.
 
Surviving are three daughters, Elizabeth Caulfield of Madison, WI, Dawn (Robert) Dooley of Chicago, IL and Cathleen (Benjamin) Dooley of Evanston, IL; twelve grandchildren, Sarah, Meghan, Jack Caulfield; Claire (Sean) Cahill, Grace (Anders) Lee, Robert, Anne, Edmund, Mary Dooley, John Clair, Maeve and Eileen Dooley; two great-grandchildren, Ruby and Josephine Lee; and his sister, Mary (Gordon) Wilson of Townsend, WI.
 
Edmund was the Director of Corporate Taxes at Bell & Howell and a U.S. Army Veteran. He is a former member of St. Jerome's Catholic Church, Rogers Park, a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church, Past President of The Chicago Tax Club, a graduate of the class of 1955 St. George High School and a proud member of the 1953 City Championship Football Team, and University of Notre Dame class of 1959. Edmund loved his family and especially time spent with them and friends at Stop16 beach. He enjoyed jogging, golfing, swimming and was an avid Notre Dame, Chicago Bears and New York Islanders fan. He was a passionate booster of all things St. Jerome’s and the unofficial team photographer for the Raiders football teams for many years. He and his wife also served as Santa and Mrs. Claus for generations of the children of St. Jerome’s in Chicago. He took great joy in sharing his passion for photography with his immediate family, friends and countless others.
 
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, March 4, 2022 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1010 Moore Road, Long Beach, IN with Father Jack Clair, Associate Executive Director and Administrator of Auxiliary Services, Misericordia Heart of Mercy, officiating.
 
Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 9:30am prior to the funeral mass at the church.  A private burial will take place at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL at a future date.
