Dorothy Marie Moffitt, 93, La Porte, formerly of Michigan City, Indiana passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 10:00 p.m. in Miller's Health & Rehab, La Porte, Indiana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave, Michigan City, IN with Rev. Jordan Fetcko officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the Queen of All Saints Legacy Center, 606 So. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City is handling the arrangements.  

Dorothy was born May 29, 1929, in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Leonard and Florence (Eisele) Wozniak. She married Wilbur "Bill" Ernest Moffitt, who preceded her in death in 1985. Bill and Dorothy shared several memorable years together.

Surviving are her son and daughter, Philip Moffitt and Carolyn (Randy) Shidler, both of La Porte, IN; two sisters, Evelyn "Evie" Grieger and Carol Landis, both of Michigan City, IN; one brother, Richard (Alice) Wozniak of Trail Creek, IN; eight grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Moffitt; five sisters, Barbara Dohner, Mary Jones, Florence Fredenburg, Diana Sue Wozniak, and Theresa Wozniak; and three brothers, James L., Donald, and Philip Wozniak.   

Dorothy was a devout catholic who was a lifetime member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. She formerly participated and was a current member of the Rosary Sodality Club at her church. Dorothy was a life member of Indiana Volunteer Firefighter's Association Auxiliary and Firefly's of Coolspring Township. She will be remembered as the "awesome" babysitter who enjoyed making her delicious chicken noodles, sweet pickles, and fruit jam for everyone. Her children cherished her as great mother whom was friendly and kind to everyone.
