Dawn Eileen Popp, 62, Three Oaks, Michigan, passed away tragically on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 in her home.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. CDT, Friday, September 8, 2023 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Rev. John Albers officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. CDT until time of service at the funeral chapel. Burial will take place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana.   

Dawn was born on June 8, 1961, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Fred "Fritz" and Norma (Rapp) Lawrenz.

Surviving are two sons, Adam Popp and Nicholas Popp, both of Michigan City, Indiana; significant other, Mark Tuszynski of Three Oaks, Michigan; and four close cousins, Peggy Lusco, Debbie Pawloski, Kim Emerick, and Becky Garwood. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred "Fritz" Lawrenz; mother, Norma Corbett; and one sister, Gail Lawrenz.   

Dawn was a produce manager for Barney's Market, New Buffalo, Michigan. She enjoyed gardening and entertaining for her family and friends, including cooking for them. Dawn also enjoyed the company of her two cats, Ella Rose and Max Peyton and dancing to Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney, and Frank Sinatra. She passionately volunteered by helping cancer patients through Betty's Buddies and had previously fought bravely and beat cancer herself. Dawn is dearly loved and missed, no words can describe the family's loss at this time.
