July 12, 1954 - September 10, 2021 

 Corneilus Wayne Wright Sr. peacefully transitioned from this life on Friday, September 10, 2021. A viewing session will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel (418 Washington St, Michigan City, IN 46360), with a memorial service immediately following.
 
Mr. Wright was born July 12, 1954 in Michigan City, IN, to the late Spencer and Willie Mae (Gerron) Wright. He met and married the love of his life, Dorothy Wright, and they were together for 45 years. Surviving are four sons, Nathaniel (Derise) Washington of Lafayette, IN; Craig (Ashlee) Wright of Indianapolis, IN; Corneilus (Dafany Isom) Wright III and Clinton (Marie) Wright, both of Michigan City, IN, four daughters, Charleena King of Gary, IN; Willie Mae (Jermaine) Wright, Talisha Lee and Mary (Carlos) Wright, all of Michigan City, IN.
 
Also surviving, are two brothers, Spencer (Susie) Wright Jr. and Emmitt Wright of Michigan City, IN; and two sisters, Ozie Mae Talbert of Rockford, IL and Tina (Damion) Holmes of Lithonia, GA; special daughter-in-law, Tanora Wright of Michigan City, IN; a host of grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces and nephews & cousins.
 
Corneilus was preceded in death by his father, Spencer Wright Sr., mother, Willie Mae Wright; five sisters, Ora V. Torrance, Lillian Hewlett, Rachel Williams, Alice Garrett and Nazaree Garrett.
 
Mr. Wright worked at Jaymar Ruby, and from there, became and independent automotive mechanic until he retired. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Corneilus’ memory to the Dementia Society of America.
