Charles J. "Corky" Callahan, 70, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:49 am in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Full Gospel House of Prayer, 2700 Ohio St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Dennis Pickens officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm Saturday at the church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.    

He was born July 16, 1953 in Michigan City, IN to the late Charles C. and Mary (Archambeault) Callahan. On February 13, 1982 in Michigan City, IN he married Sally Dolph who survives in Michigan City, IN.

Also surviving are a daughter, Shona (Jon) Kaufman of Michigan City, IN; special-daughter, Renee Bays of Michigan City, IN; four grandchildren, Anastajaha (Devon) Kohn, Olivia (Kodiak) Fields, Douglas Kaufman and Delaney Kaufman; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Sanders and Baby L; sister, Karen Callahan of South Bend, IN; brother, Greg (Julie) Callahan of Three Oaks, MI; sister-in-law, Tina (Frank) Maenza of Michigan City, IN; and his mother-in-law, Rosa Dolph of Michigan City, IN.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Monger and Evelyn Bowmar; three brothers, Eugene Callahan, Charles A. Callahan and Raymond Callahan; and his father-in-law, Jerry Dolph.   

Corky had worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed nature walks, riding his Harley, attending car shows to visit all of his friends and going to the drag strip with his children. Corky loved his family.
