Cathleen (Cathy) Dunne died unexpectedly in Denver on May 29, 2023. She was 64.

Cathy was born in Chicago on February 15, 1959, to Dottie and Paul Dunne. She grew up in Chicago and Michigan City, where she attended Notre Dame School and Marquette High School. After graduating from Purdue University, she lived and worked in Chicago, then moved to Denver, where she resided her last 20+ years. Cathy worked in banking for most of her career.

Cathy’s many friends and family will remember her for countless different things, but all who knew her well will recall her warm humor and unswerving loyalty. Showing up and being there, not least when it mattered most. The eyebrow that curled into a question mark; the answer written in smile lines that flow into laughter. 

All who met Cathy will remember her kindness. This was her default mode, powered by empathy and compassion, also when things got tough. 

Cathy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her siblings Paul, Terry, and Anne and their families - and the many who knew her and learned more about love through her wonderful example. 

Cathy’s funeral mass will take place at Notre Dame Church in Michigan City on Friday, August 25 at 10:30 a.m. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
