Catherine H. Garrabrant, 97, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 5:15 am in her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 16, 2026 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Jacob McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and from 9:15 am - 10:00 am Friday at the Queen of All Saints Church Legacy Center.
She was born June 26, 1928 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Mary (Lee) Flynn. On October 17, 1953 in Sawyer, MI. Catherine married Eugene Garrabrant who preceded her in death on September 24, 2012.
Surviving are two daughters, Monica (Nicholas) Hargarten of Westville, IN and Mary Duers of Michigan City, IN; three sons, Frank (Vicki) Garrabrant of Johnson City, TN, Timothy Garrabrant of Oak Lawn, IL and Patrick Garrabrant of Gulfport, FL; ten grandchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth, Peter, David, Lindsay, T.J., Kevin, Allison, Christine and William; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Martin Garrabrant; sister, Dorothy; brother, Thomas; and a great-grandchild.
Catherine had worked at Royal Metal and at the Medical Group of Michigan City. She was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church where she was involved with the Altar & Rosary Society and funeral choir. She was a member of the Michigan City Senior Center and served as a board member of the Queen of All Saints Credit Union. Catherine enjoyed playing ping pong, scrabble, doing crossword puzzles and taking Spanish lesson at the Senior Center.
