Brunhilde CLara Wahlers of Dune Acres, Indiana, passed away at the age of 86 on November 14, 2023.

Private services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.    

She was born in Westerholt, Germany to Bruno and Hilde (Ollach) Hiltrop. Shortly thereafter they immigrated to the United States where they settled in the Miller section of Gary, Indiana.

Surviving are her two sons, Mark and Chris.

She graduated from Wirt High School. In  1961 she married Alfred J. Wahlers who preceded her in 2019.

Brunhilde had a modeling career, being named Miss Miller and later working in Chicago at venues such as the Chicago Auto Show and the Marshall Fields Walnut Room. Later she worked in Alfred's Plumbing Company as a receptionist.

She enjoyed tennis, boating, playing the piano and down hill and cross country skiing in Michigan and Colorado. She loved animals and had numerous dogs throughout her life.
