Billy B. Nichelson

Billy B. Nichelson, 93, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Nancy Nichols officiating. Private burial will be held in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, IN. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm -3:00 pm, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.

He is survived by his loving wife Jane, whom he married in 1955. Also surviving are two daughters, CK (Tracy Chappelow) Nichelson of North College Hill, OH, Karen (Larry) Arndt of Humble, TX; son, Scott (Rosalie) Nichelson of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, Kevin Arndt of Humble, TX, Amy Arndt of Austin, TX, Lindsey (Jesse) Sanchez of San Antonio, TX, Michael (Fiance-Brittany Toy) Nichelson of League City, TX.

Billy served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1945-1946. He worked for Indiana Bell/AT&T for 39 years and was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. After his retirement he became an avid golfer with the '76ers. He also enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan and was a member of the Coho Club. Billy was a member and attended the First United Methodist Church in Michigan City for many years.
