Barbara Jean Ludlow, 80, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 7:45 p.m., in her home surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Chris Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral chapel.   

Barbara was born on December 15, 1942, in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Ralph and Dorothy (Carter) Niemann. On September 19, 1964, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Bruce L. Ludlow, who preceded her in death July 10, 1993.

Surviving are her son, Michael (Lisa) Ludlow; granddaughter, Dallas (Shawn) Dupree; great-granddaughter, Gwen Dupree; two sisters, Diane McCord and Sue (Tom) Smith; two nephews, Stephen McCord and Richard Kessler; one niece, Brooke (David) Miller; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce L. Ludlow; and daughter, Jennifer Ludlow. 

Barbara graduated from Elston High School. She was a faithful member of Evergreen Baptist Church, Michigan City and former member of Countryside Christian Church. At Countryside Christian Church, she was part of The Compassion Group, writing and sending out cards to members. Her work life was very important to her at Harbor Trust and Investments, committing to several years as a secretary. Barbara will be remembered as a great meticulous organizer, and a wonderful entertainer for family and friends around the holidays. She loved country music, especially Alan Jackson!! Barbara caught others' attention with her paintings she enjoyed creating over the years. She will be greatly missed.
