Barbara "Jeanne" Gallas, 90, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2:10 am in Symphony of Chesterton, Chesterton, Indiana.

There will be no visitation or service. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.

She was born December 24, 1929 in Michigan City, IN to the late Normand and Anna (Dolembo) Grieger. On April 21, 1956 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Eugene Gallas who preceded January 11, 2010.

Surviving are daughter, Cheryl (Jim) Childers of Michigan City, IN; four step-grandchildren, Jill Childers, Catherine Myers, Amy Childers, Emily Childers; seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother, Marvin Grieger; step-grandchild , Kevin Childers;

Barbara was a homemaker and a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. She was an avid animal lover, especially dogs. Barbara enjoyed doing arts and crafts, crocheting, and ceramics. She also used to play and teach the accordion.
