Barbara Ann Arndt, 86, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at 2:31 pm in Franciscan Health - Michigan City, Michigan City, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 pm until time service in the funeral chapel.    

She was born December 4, 1938 in Gary, Indiana to the late John and Anna (Hatrak) Pawlicki. On July 4, 1958 she married Frank A. Arndt, who preceded her in death on October 30. 2006.

Surviving are daughter, Christine (Roger Dale Lawson) Arndt of Michigan City, Indiana; two sons, Jerry C. Arndt of Michigan City, Indiana, Casey (Judy) Arndt of La Porte, Indiana; grandchildren, Matthew (Nancy) Arndt, Adam (Wendy) Arndt, Brittnee Arndt, Ashley Arndt, Danielle (Justin) Newcomb; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Debbie Biggs of Lake Station, Indiana; brother, John (Billie) Pawlicki Jr. of Atkins, Arkansas along with a special-friend & caregiver, Darlene Clay, and her canine granddogs, Maude and Jagger.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Antonette Harrison and Carol Roszkowski;    

Barbara always thought...... God, grand me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.  The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.  Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.  Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it.  Trusting that you will make things right, if I would surrender to your will.  That I may be reasonably in this life, and supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Barbara loved eclairs, Chris' chili and Rosie's banana bread.  She enjoyed bluegrass music in her final years.  She was an animal lover, and never minded feeding one of the dogs her meal.  The last time she was caught feeding her dog, it was 2 half White Castle sliders.  

She enjoyed being a spectator in bowling tournaments, and kept accurate scores while Frank bowled. She loved northern Wisconsin, and returned there many times with the family.  The last time was a journey through Michigan's upper peninsula to place some of Frank's ashes in the Flambeau Flowage of Mercer, Wisconsin.  She was always ready to go for a ride, and was content to sit in the car, with the 2 dogs in the back, while Chris ran errands.
