Allan F. Hale, 76, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 3:40 pm in Northwest Health-Porter, Valparaiso, IN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 10, 2023  at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington Street, Michigan City, IN with  Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Tuesday at the church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.    

He was born June 14, 1947 in Michigan City, IN to the late Carl and Lucille (Chlebowski) Hale. 

He is survived by his spouse of 56 years, Katherine S. (Hill) Hale; siblings, Susan (Robert) Hultgren, Garry (Catherine) Hale, David Hale and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Andrew A. Hale.   

After graduation, Allan attended Moler Barber College in Chicago, IL and graduated in 1966. He then serviced in the Naval Reserves for six years, two of which where active duty during Vietnam. After the service, Allan worked at Bethlehem Steel as a millwright for 39 years and retired in 2013.

He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, St. Joseph Young Men's Society, American Legion Skwiat Post 451 and the United Steel Workers Union Local 6787, District 7. Over the years Allan enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, camping and volunteering for different organizations.
