Warren Stone McCormick, 96, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at 5:10 am in VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso, IN.
Mass of Christian will be held at 2:00 pm EST, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church, 1100 S. Calhoun St., Fort Wayne, IN with Rev. Peter DeeDe officiating. Burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST, Thursday at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
He was born February 4, 1921 in Appalachia, Virginia to the late George and Stella (Davenport) McCormick. On August 23, 1946 in Fort Wayne, IN he married Joann Peavey who preceded him on September 18, 2004.
Surviving are a daughter, Jill (James) Skonieczny of Michigan City, IN; two sons, Patrick "Joe" McCormick of Michigan City, IN and Kevin (Julie) McCormick of Trafalgar, IN; four grandchildren, Rodney Skonieczny, Ryan Skonieczny, Lori McCormick and Samantha Hanke; and four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Francheska, Stone and August.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Lori McCormick and Kathleen Hanke; son, John McCormick; two sisters, Nina Grove and Jennelle Wyatt; and his brother, Frank McCormick.
Warren retired as a controller at National Serveall and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church, Fort Wayne, IN.
