Virgie Lee Moffett, 85, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018..

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation hours will be Saturday from 9:00 am till the time of service.

She was born June 1, 1933 in Booneville, Mississippi to the late John and Julia (Reed) Haynes. On August 14, 1968 in she married Herbert Moffett who preceded March 12, 1991.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammy Cardinal of Terre Haute, Indiana and Virginia Morris of Michigan City, Indiana; two sons, Aaron Moffett and Richard Buren both of Michigan City, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews; She was preceded in death by two daughters, Sheila Morris and Janice Thode; two sisters, Lillian Mae Childers and Pearl Haynes;

Virgie retired after 42 years with Blocksom & Co. as a molder. She was a member of the United Auto Workers Union holding numerous union positions. Virgie had a special love for gospel music, dancing, traveling and bird watching.
