Ruby Mae Jones, 91, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 12:15 pm in her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with Pastor Dennis Pickens officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 am till the the time service at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

She was born April 16, 1927 in Clayborne County, Tennessee to the late Henry and Eva (Jones) Evans. She was previously married to Bud Jones, who preceded her in death.  On December 24, 1986 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Charles Steele, Jr. who survives Michigan City, Indiana. Also surviving are son, Darryl Jones; six grandchildren, Wade, Cody, Tyler, Evan, Garrett and Kayla Jones; eleven great-grandchildren, Chloe, Leilani, Hunter, Jax, Savayah, Noah, Carter, Camden, Graciana, Bryson and Reid; three sisters, Marie Bruner, Pauline Matthew and Viola Wilder; brother, Walter Evans; special niece, Betty (David Payne) Hallford; along with many other nieces & nephews; She was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Amos, Ray and Clifford Evans; brother-in-law, Carl Bruner;

Ruby retired in 1992 from Federal Mogul Corporation as an assembler. She enjoyed gardening and working outside with Charles.
