February 27, 1956 - August 20, 2011

Robert C.  Komasinski, 55, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday August 20, 2011 at 7:30 a.m. in the home of his brother.

Mass of Christian Burial  will be held at noon Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Rev. Walter Rakoczy officiating. Cremation has taken place and ashes will be interred privately in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  
Visitation will be from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN.  

He was born February 27, 1956 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Bernard "Ben" and Gertrude "Trudy" (Markowski) Komasinski.  
Surviving are a sister, Sharon (Bernard, II, M.D.) Reen of Charlotte, NC; brother, Michael (Ramona) Komasinski, O.D. of LaPorte, IN;  5 nephews, Kevin, Brendan, Sean and Conor Reen and Michael Komasinski, II;  and 3 nieces, Erin (Scott) Foster, Amanda (Jeff) DeMass and Nicole Komasinski.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Patrick Reen

He received his Bachelor of Science from Notre Dame University, his PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University and conducted his research at Bethesda Naval Hospital. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, enjoyed playing piano and doing yardwork.
