Richard Kniola, 76, Fort Mill, South Carolina, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2:48 am in Crossroads at Catawba, Catawba, SC.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Dr. Lance Hilberg officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday and from 9:00 am - 10:00 am Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

He was born July 12, 1941 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Henry and Hattie (Laughman) Kniola.

Surviving are six daughters, Katie (Gregory) Marciniak of Fort Mill, SC, Kisa Kniola of LaPorte, IN, Christina (Johnathan) Heying of New London, WI, Tara (Chris) Cummings of Michigan City, Indiana, Terri (John) Foster of LaPorte, IN and Tina (Rich) Kirby of LaPorte, IN; son, Donald (Tawni) Kniola of LaPorte, IN; 20 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Paul) Muckerhiede of Hamilton, OH; two brothers, Joseph (Cyndee) Kniola and David (Patricia) Kniola, both of LaPorte, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He retired as a brick layer at Larson-Danielson and was a U.S. Marine Corps. Veteran.
