Nancy L. Wort, 82, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 3, 2019 at 7:11 am.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, May 10, 2019 at Faith City Assembly of God, 1314 So. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, Indiana with Pastor Bill Barnes officiating. Burial will take place Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 9:30 am in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation hours will be Friday from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm in the Faith City Assembly of God Church. Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.

She was born January 15, 1937 in York, Pennsylvania to the late James W. Ward and Thelma Humphries Ward Sharpe. Surviving are daughter, Deborah (Brian) Moore of Michigan City, Indiana; two sons, David Wort of Michigan City, Indiana and Daniel (Wendy) Wort of Elkhart, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Michael Moore and Hannah Moore both of Michigan City, Indiana, Grant Wort and Ben Wort both of Osceola, Indiana, Alayna Wort, Sam Wort and Zane Wort all of Elkhart, Indiana; brother, James R. (Sharon) Sharpe and nephew, James West Sharpe both of Wilmington, Delaware; She was preceded in death by her brother, West A. Sharpe;

Nancy was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church, Michigan City, Indiana. She retired as a nurse having worked for many years in both hospital and the Michigan City School System. She loved the theatre having been in several summer productions at the Canterbury including Aunt Eller in Oklahoma, and Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn in the Music Man. Nancy loved to draw, camp and for over 35 years sang in Handel's Messiah.
