Keith E. Switzer, 72, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 1:00 am in Hospice Franciscan Communities, Michigan City, IN.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Roger Ash officiating. Private burial will place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Sunday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. The John Franklin Miller American Legion Skwiat Post 37 will conduct full military services Sunday at the funeral chapel.
He was born June 30, 1945 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Eugene and Jeannette (Anderson) Switzer. On July 12, 1969 in New Buffalo, MI he married Jenifer Glossinger who survives in Michigan City, IN.
Also surviving are a daughter, Tracy (Christopher) McCarty of Chesterton, IN; four grandchildren, Mathew, Lajos "Yoshi", Blake and Andrew; five sisters, Peggy (Joseph) Schultz of Vail, AZ, Susan Gumns of Michigan City, IN, Nancy (Joseph) Groth of Michigan City, IN, Toni (Robert) Probst of Port Deposit, MD and Michelle (Douglas) Muenzer of San Diego, CA; and his brother, Dennis (Judy) Switzer of Michigan City, IN.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy and Daniel Switzer.
Keith retired as an electrician with the I.B.E.W. Local 531 and was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and traveling in the escape pod.
