John K. McGuire, 76, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at 7:42 am in Franciscan Health - Michigan City, Michigan City, Indiana.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, Indiana with Selvaraj Selladurai officiating. Private family burial will take place at a later date full military services in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm, in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel and Saturday from 9:15 am till 10:00 am in the Queen of all Saints Catholic Church Legacy Center.

He was born May 11, 1941 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Robert and Lucille (Byerly) McGuire. On April 11, 1964 in Fort Wayne, Indiana he married CatherineSue Schneider who preceded him in death on June 6, 1990. Surviving are Three daughters, Kelli Sue Papp of La Porte, Indiana, Laura Heim of Michigan City, Indiana, Sarah (Aaron) Faulkenburg of New Carlisle, Indiana. Two sons, Robert McGuire of Michigan City, Indiana and Kevin (Charlene) McGuire of La Porte, Indiana. Twelve grandchildren, Jon-Michael, Katie and Jacob Papp, Tabbatha (Nathan) Phelps, Zackery (Shiann) McGuire, Caitlyn and Nathan Heim, Samantha, Jack and Caleb McGuire, Morgan and Madison Faulkenburg along with four great-grandchildren, Jayson and Marshall Phelps, Novalee and Blake McGuire. Sister, Sue Ellen Bulmahn of Fort Wayne, Indiana along with his beloved pet dog Tripper. He was preceded in death by Brother, David McGuire.

John was a member of Queen of all Saints Catholic Church retiring in 2003 after 38 years as a operator with Bethlehem Steel Mfg. He also was a school bus driver for the Michigan City School System. He was a member of the Senior Citizens of Washington Park, weekly Poker club and enjoyed watching sporting events and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with being a veteran of the United States Navy.
