Jeffery A. (Mitchell) Sutherlin, 56 years young, from Check, Virginia (formally Michigan City, IN)

Passed away December 5th, 2018. He was born to Neil Mitchell of Michigan City, on October 1, 1962.

He is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Debra (Brooks); who was his high school sweetheart and love of his life. Children TJ Sutherlin and Angelica Sutherlin of Wisconsin, and step children; Cody (Caitlyn) Loetz of Rolling Prairie and Brett (Lisa) Loetz of LaPorte. Also, surviving are 6 grandchildren. His sisters Terri (Arnold) Lopez of Madison Heights, Virginia and Tracy Sutherlin of Pasadena, California, sister Kim Mitchell and brother Scott Mitchell of El Mirage, Arizona. His niece Aymee (Daniel) Gunter and great nephew Nicholas Gunter of Gladstone, Virginia and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friends. Also surviving cousin and best friend Shawn Sutherlin; and Brother in Arms & Best Friend John Landry.

Jeffery was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all he met. He served in the United States Army for 13 years and was a very proud veteran. He was a life member of the DAV, Masonic Unity Lodge #367, Dousman, Wisconsin for 22 years, VFW, and the NRA.

He had an undeniable love for his family, and enjoyed spending time with his wife on their homestead. He was an avid hunter, and fisherman and loved raising animals. He will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his father Neil Mitchell; his sister Becky Mitchell; mother in law Margaret Brooks; father in law Maurice Brooks.

A Celebration of Life and Military Honors to be scheduled for a later date.
