Jean M. Sliwa, 92, Michigan City, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 7:45 am in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, May 12, 2018 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 109 Ann St., Michigan City with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

Jean was born February 18, 1925 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Anthony & Violet (Stawowy) Wroblewski. On September 14, 1946 in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Stanley A. Sliwa, who preceded her on August 18, 1986.

Surviving are four sons, James (Joanie Meece) Sliwa of FL; Philip D. Sliwa (Cynthia Pizarek) of OH; Kevin Sliwa (Kelli Reed) of FL; Jeffrey Sliwa of Michigan City; one daughter, Nancy (Terry) Turner of GA; four grandsons, Philip J. Sliwa (Wanda) of OH; Michael Turner of GA, David Turner of FL; Kyle Sliwa of Michigan City; five granddaughters, Lisa (Tom) Roessler of TX; Michelle (Brian) Cook of TX; twins Madeline and Olivia Sliwa of FL; Katie Turner of GA; two stepgranddaughters, Rachel West and Sara Futch of FL; four great-grandsons, Cody Cook and Jonathan Roessler of TX; Alex and Nicholas Sliwa of OH; two great-granddaughters, Jennifer Roessler and Lexi Cook of TX.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Joan McKee and three brothers, Emil Wroblewski, Tom Wrobleski and James Wrobleski, Sr.

Jean was a life-long resident of Michigan City and life-long member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society for over 50 years, a Eucharistic guardian for over 20 years at Christ the King Chapel at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, and member of Michigan City Senior Center. She retired as an administrative secretary at the former Memorial Hospital. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed flower gardens.

Contributions for funeral masses can be arranged at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 109 Ann Street, Michigan City, IN or for family wishes can be made at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel or sent to the family.
