James A. Wrobleski, Sr., 86, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 2:12 pm in Hospice Franciscan Communities, Michigan City, Indiana.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1506 Washington Street, Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation hours will be from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 and from 8:30 am till 9:30 am Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. The St. Joseph Young Men's Society will recite the Rosary at 6:00 pm Tuesday and the American Legion Skwiat Post 451 will conduct a Memorial service at 6:15 pm both in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel and full military service will be also conducted Wednesday in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
He was born July 11, 1931 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Anthony and Violet (Stawowy) Wroblewski. On July 29, 1961 in Gary, Indiana he married Geraldine "Jeri" Ference who survives Michigan City, Indiana; Also surviving are Two Sons, James A. (Cecile) Wrobleski Jr. of Michigan City, Indiana and David (Melanie Henckel) Wrobleski of Laporte, Indiana; Two Grandsons, Anthony Wrobleski of Bloomington, Indiana and Matthew Allen of Michigan City, Indiana; Granddaughter, Sophia Wrobleski of Laporte, Indiana; Sister, Jean Sliwa of Michigan City, Indiana; Brother-in-law, Russell McKee of Michigan City, Indiana; He was preceded in death by Two Brothers, Tom Wrobleski, Emil Wroblewski; Sister, Joan McKee;
Jim was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Michigan City, Indiana, St. Joseph Young Men's Society and the American Legion Skwiat Post 451. He also served in the United States Army and enjoyed traveling to Northern Wisconsin where he could fish and enjoy the local community. Jim was an avid Notre Dame Football fan who had been a season ticket holder for many years. He worked for ESB Corp. (Exide Battery) after college and earned their top salesman award. He later started his own manufacturer's representative firm in 1967, Jim Wrobleski & Co., Inc., one of the first performance and specialty equipment only rep firms in the automotive aftermarket. He was an early member of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and over the years his company has received over 100 Top Sales, Sales Growth and Individual sales awards. His company was honored with the SEMA Manufacturers Rep of the Year award in 2001 and he was inducted into SEMA's Manufacturers Rep Council Hall of Fame in 2007.
