Gladys A. Swanson, 84, Mentor, Ohio, formerly of Michigan City, IN,passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at 1:25 am in Mentor Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Mentor, OH.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 1, 2019 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Deacon Michael Green officiating. Burial will follow in Furnessville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am -1:00 pm, Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

She was born December 22, 1934 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Clemment and Teresa (Forbes Grieger) Kieffer. On March 31, 1951 in Westville, IN she married Harold A. Swanson who preceded her on May 5, 2009.

Surviving are two daughters, Theresa (Phillip) Creager of Michigan City, IN and Patricia (Thomas) Seymour of Mentor, OH; son, Larry (Pamela) Swanson, Sr. of Michigan City, IN; eight grandchildren, Melissa Creager, Barry (Lisa) Creager, Raqueal Seymour, Timothy (Melissa) Seymour, Charles Seymour, Anna Seymour, Larry Swanson, Jr. and Paul (Ashley) Swanson; step-grandchild, Joshua (Rachel) Sager; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kelsey, Amanda, Kyle, Ryan, Kayley and Tobias.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Topa and Agnes Galloy; and her brother, Alfred Kieffer.

Gladys had worked at Gateway Industries. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, sewing and canning.
