Elaine W. Russell, 87, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at 2:40 pm in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, November 9, 2018 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 818 Franklin St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Mark Reshan officiating. Private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

She was born December 21, 1930 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Joseph and Helen (Hanyzewski) Piotrowski. On November 30, 1995 in Michigan City, IN she married Robert "Butch" Russell who preceded her on October 20, 2011.

Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Lane of Michigan City, Indiana, Katherine (Allan) Hale of LaPorte, IN; four Sons, Richard Hill, II of Valparaiso, IN, James (Marcia) Hill of Michigan City, IN, Gary (Sylvia) Hall of St. Joseph, MI and Brett (Michelle) Hendrix of Hobart, IN; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Phillips of Indianapolis, IN and Clara Ann Sischo of the Pines, IN.

She was also preceded in death by her grandson; and two sisters, Dolores Eldridge and Adeline Gebbink.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Door Prairie Painters. Elaine enjoyed tole painting.
