Dolores Teresa Chmielowiec, 79, Trail Creek, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 6:00 pm in her home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:15 pm, Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana with Rev. Kevin Huber officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm till the time of service at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana 46360.

She was born June 6, 1939 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late John and Mary (Boyan) Malik. On November 24, 1973 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Edward Chmielowiec who survives Trail Creek, Indiana along with a daughter, Diana (Paul) Mattaliano and two grandsons Matthew and Michael Mattaliano all of Romeoville, Illinois; four sisters, Janet Ohms of Michigan City, Indiana, Genevieve Lasky of Michigan City, Indiana, Mary Giannini of Michigan City, Indiana and Irene Jamrok of Merrillville, Indiana; two brothers, Edward Malik and John Malik both of Michigan City, Indiana; She was preceded in death by Sister, Sophie Pizarek;

Mrs. Chmielowiec was a homemaker and worked for many years as a kindergarten teacher's assistant at Queen of all Saints School. She liked to do puzzles and spending time with her daughter and her two grandsons.
