Daniel R. Shebel, 74, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:20 pm with his loving family at his side.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church/Otis, Indiana 101 N. Church Rd., Otis, Indiana with Rev. Michael Kopil officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Otis, Indiana. Visitation hours will be Monday from 4:00 pm -7:00 pm in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.

He was born December 16, 1943 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Elmer and Aurelia (Gill) Shebel. On October 2, 1971 he married Janet Wroblewski who survives Michigan City, Indiana along with two daughters, Cindy (Greg) Enos of La Porte, Indiana and Sheri Brackeen of New Carlisle, Indiana; three Grandchildren, Chase Brackeen, Brooke and Brendan Enos; sister, Sharon Walsh of Peru, Indiana and two Brothers, Tim Shebel of Otis, Indiana and Terry Shebel of Peru, Indiana; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; He was preceded in death by two Brothers, Mahlon Shebel and Kevin Shebel;

Dan was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Otis, Indiana and USWA Local 12775. A graduate from Westville High School 1961 and retired from NIPSCO after 35 years of service mainly at the Bailly Gen. Station. He enjoyed Indiana University basketball, fishing, gardening & the great outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. Dan was a very loving, caring, husband, dad and grandpa. He will be greatly missed.
